"Computing for Everyone"
This web site has been created with several purposes;
  • To allow 'non-technical' people to gain a better understanding of their computers.
  • To create a clean and simple website that anyone can navigate.
  • As a portal for people who require any of my computer related services.
  • To provide people with reviews and links to PC Software that I personally have installed on my computer, which I have found to either increase usability or functionality.

I have two main philosophy's regarding computers;

1. "Everyone is good at something, just because you're not necessary a 'wizz' with computers doesn't mean that your stupid."
My favourite mechanic once said that he was stupid because he needed help with his PC, I said to him "I can look under a car bonnet and be completely lost, but I know computers. Does that mean that I'm stupid?"

2. Every person can use computers, it is only a matter of confidence and a little bit of knowledge.
Most people with little experience or exposure to computers experience fear or trepidation when using PC's. This is because they believe that they will "break the thing" or that if they press the wrong button that all the files on the computer will be sucked into a black hole.

Computers need not be scary, in fact, they can be very useful and even fun to use. I have included some PC Tips & Tricks that can ease the most common fears of computer users.

New rogue antivirus app has a hate-on for Malwarebytes Source: Download Squad
by Lee Mathews (RSS feed) Sep 2nd 2009 at 8:00PM
If there's one anti-malware application that we (and you) hold near and dear, it's Malwarebytes.
How do you know when your crapware-fighting application has really made it big? When it starts being targeted by rogue
antivirus software, of course.

"Protection System — which sounds about as real as The Christopher Guest School for Mixed Martial Arts — detects MBAM
during its bogus scan procedure and declares it malicious. It then offers to remove the threat for the poor sap who doesn't
realize what's happening. After clicking ok, the uninstall routine is run and the user is left without what is likely the best tool for
removing this pest.""

This isn't a new tactic by any means. It's pretty common for engineered nasties to disable and damage antivirus and antimalware > programs and mess with your hosts file so you can't update definitions or re-download.

Keep your filthy paws off MBAM, you damn, dirty rogue.
